What is the Cambridge AICE Diploma?

The Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma is an internationally recognized qualification for high school students. It is designed to provide a challenging and rigorous academic program that prepares students for success in college and beyond.

Key points about the AICE Diploma:

- Offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education

- Recognized by universities worldwide

- Emphasizes critical thinking, research, and independent learning skills

- Allows students to choose from a variety of subject areas

To earn the AICE Diploma, students must complete a specific number of credits across different subject groups. Here's a breakdown of the requirements:

1. Total Credits: Students must earn a minimum of 7 credits.

2. Compulsory Subject: All students must pass the Cambridge International AS Level Global Perspectives & Research examination (1 credit).

3. Subject Groups: Credits must be earned from the following groups:

   - Group 1: Mathematics and Sciences (at least 1 credit)

   - Group 2: Languages (at least 1 credit)

   - Group 3: Arts and Humanities (at least 1 credit)

   - Group 4: Interdisciplinary subjects (optional)

4. Level of Study: 

   - AS Level courses are worth 1 credit

   - A Level courses are worth 2 credits

5. Grade Requirements: Students must achieve a grade of E or higher in each subject to earn credit.

How will AICE Cambridge candidates be determined?

  1. Test scores from previous GMAS exams
  2. Students who are already on an advance course of study (took Algebra 1 in 8th grade, took Biology as a 9th grader)
  3. Previous grades
  4. Teacher/counselor recommendations
  5. Parent/student interest

Key Points to Remember:

1. There are three levels of AICE Diplomas.

2. Your final marks on six course exams determine your diploma level.

3. Each exam gives you points towards your AICE Diploma.

4. You need six credits across three groups to qualify for an AICE Diploma.

5. If you score below 120 points, you don't get a diploma, but you still get certificates for each subject you passed.
